Description
This Iris can grow to be around 2 ft tall and grows best in full to part sun. The Alaskan Iris has sword-like leaves that rise from the base and a thick round flower stalk. The 3 large blue-purple petals are actually sepals that aid in attracting pollinators. The true petals are small and located toward the center of the flower. Also called the “Bristle-pointed Iris” it is a very hardy iris that will grow in a variety of environments both wet and dry.
